About Us
We’ve all heard it before, recycle, reuse, reduce, but how easy is it for the average Joe to make a change and live a more environmentally friendly life?
Our family is just that, average Joes (and Janes), trying to go “green” and this is our story. We’re here to give all the nitty-gritty details of the ups and downs of trying to be more eco-conscious people. We want to reduce our “Carbon Footprint” and create a more beautiful earth-print, we plan to make changes to our everyday lives to see what works and if we can make a difference. Check back with us every week to read our progress, see what products we are trying out, and tell us what you are doing to be a “greener” version of you. Have a look-see at our individual profiles to learn more about the fam.
Karen and Jim’s Profile…
Hi to everyone visiting our site! We are Jim and Karen Rester. Having grown up in the late 70’s, I was an official card carrying tree hugger, charter member of the Environmental club and die hard John Denver fan! Jim was not that big on John Denver but has always had a love of nature and is a great photographer. Some of our earth friendly high points: We spent a couple of years living aboard a sailboat which we outfitted with wind and solar power. Sailing from Texas to Florida and down through the Bahamas, we were always the go to boat in the anchorage because we did not have to run an engine or generator to have lights in the evening.
After leaving the boat, we built a home from SIP (Structurally Insulated Panels) panels, installed a gray water system to water the garden and a rain water collection system. This home was in Deep South Texas where conservation of water was and still is a must!
We have since moved to be closer to our family and the grand-kids in North Texas. We live on our small farm, which are practicing sustainable Agriculture on. The name of our place is Bluemoon Farm ( http://www.bluemoonfarmtexas.com/). We hope to produce earth friendly, healthy and naturally good produce and farm products! Keep tuned in to our blogs as we move towards a simpler life and a greener Earth print.

Sharen and Carter’s Profile…
We are “Carter and Sharen, we live in the same metropolitain area as our daughter and her husband and our son and his wife. It is truly a challenge to become more eco friendly, you just don’t realize it until you start trying to put steps in practice to become greener. We however have committed ourselves to becoming a more earth friendly family. If it means walking back to the car to retrieve the reuseable grocery bags, when we remember we have forgotten them while in line at the store, we will and have, more times than I would like to think.
We have a recycle bin in our already cramped pantry, but we are recycling more than we are throwing out. The process to simplify, reduce, reuse, and recycle has started for us. We are determined to reduce our carbon foot print and enjoy this gloriously, beautiful earth, hopefully correcting in a positive way, the negative impact, we, along with many others have had upon this earth. Check back, there is no telling what information you will find that you can put into practice in your own home. Take the first step!

Martin and Katie’s Profile…
Hi Y’all, we are Martin & Katie, eco bloggers! Martin is one of the newest parts of the “Fam”. We got married in October of 2006 and haven’t looked back since, a new house, five dogs, new jobs and of course a new project writing about our eco adventures.
We are both super excited about “blogging” our way to a greener living and we want you to share our experiences throughout the journey. Realizing that we were not exactly eco-friendly ignited a frenzy of ideas, there is a wealth of information on improving your Earth-Print and reducing your Carbon Foot-Print and we hope to add a new and exciting perspective to the Eco Ethos.
Thanks for reading and watch this space! – Martin & Katie
